| Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company
This Friday morning, members of the Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company were honored to join fire, EMS, and law enforcement agencies from across Suffolk County in forming an Honor Wall at the entrance to Calverton National Cemetery.
We stood together to pay tribute to Medal of Honor recipient Private First Class Garfield M. Langhorn, U.S. Army, a Riverhead native who was killed in action on January 15, 1969, while serving our nation with extraordinary courage and selfless sacrifice.
PFC Langhorn was laid to rest with full military honors at Calverton National Cemetery, where he now rests beside fellow Medal of Honor recipient Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy—the only two known Medal of Honor recipients buried at Calverton National Cemetery.
It was a privilege to stand shoulder to shoulder with our public safety partners as the procession passed, honoring a true American hero and remembering the sacrifices made by those who gave everything for our freedom.
The Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company is proud to have been a part of this moving tribute.
